Meet the Team

Ian

Ian started I.A.Oakes, his own carpentry and bespoke joinery business, in July 1995.

He served a two year apprenticeship with a master craftsman, learning many traditional joinery skills which are sadly, now dying out.

Ian now puts these traditional skills to good use when constructing green oak garden rooms!

Always wanting to be a joiner, Ian started helping his father, a highly recommended builder throughout Staffordshire, from the age of 10.

Ian has since achieved NVQ Levels 1, 2 & 3 Bench joinery (CITB construction).

Phil

Phil joined I.A.Oakes in October 1998 having served an apprenticeship with a large local joinery company.

Phil is qualified to NVQ Levels 1 & 2 Bench Joinery (CITB Construction).

Michael

Michael joined us in February 2006 as an apprentice.

He has since achieved NVQ Levels 1, 2 & 3 advanced wood occupations site joinery.

Grant

Grant joined the team on 9th August 2010 and is now on NVQ level 2 wood occupations site joinery at Leek college.
